Dallas Metroplex DDRS Seminar

This past weekend the guild had a seminar in the metroplex at Texas Storm Kempo in Richland hills.

We covered the gelditus structure as well as the sets of Trapping Badger and the its reasoning's.

It was a great seminar since the group of north Texas and the one from south Texas had a chance to see and train with each other.

All in all we had a blast with the stories of the past with my brother Sifu Greg Ringness talking about Sifu Keith See and the truth about the art.

Initiateur Nilgai bonding with Coach Corsair and zipotero Crow.

I can speak for all when I say thank you to Professeur Buitron for coming to the metroplex and doing a seminar for us this past week. The time that afternoon seemed to fly by. I have limited experience in working with the blade. The instruction I received was very valuable in my efforts to understand the theories and correct techniques of using the blade.

It is very important to receive the quality instruction we receive in order to survive. Ignorance will get someone killed. In addition, we all became further educated in the effectiveness of a head butt. It is a very simple yet very effective weapon that when used correctly can end a situation. In addition, the importance of following up with additional techniques was emphasized to us all.

The purpose of Professeur Buitron putting on this seminar for us was to help promote Danse De Rue Savate in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I’m excited because I now have a location to teach and practice Danse De Rue Savate under the influence of Professeur Buitron. My boss has told me I am allowed to use his studio to teach with no overhead costs.

We all know that having a good place to teach might be the biggest obstacle in having a club or school. I appreciate my boss Steve Kluender having enough faith in me not to abuse the opportunity to teach in his studio. I have two to tell me they are joining the guild. So hopefully this is an opportunity I can take advantage of.

After the Seminar we hung out at the old HOOTERS where we had a lot of laughs about the old school. We laughed about the bloopers and joked about the strange ones that came and went through those doors.

As Sifu See, used to say the best training comes after a few cold ones. That seems to be the reality of things. What is learned is usually applied in the forefront
