Professeur

Paul-Raymond Buitron III

Professeur Buitron became the first American to achieve the prestigious Silver Glove of Savate in France. He also achieved the Professeurate of Savate, Canne et Baton, Lutte Parissienne and Panache.

As stated by Professeur Buitron , "no one system contains all the answers or magic that will create a ultimate fighting machine."

In 1992 Professeur Buitron was given the highest medals of the French Federation of Savate the Bronze Medals for his work in Boxe Francaise and Canne de Combat in France, for becoming the first non-French to teach and operate a club of Savate in France ( on the left- Club Chaudron-ASPTT) shown at the left.

Also, in 1992 he was awarded by the French Ministry of Children the Medal of Good Hope for his work in aiding the children of Paris.

On March of 1992 the Texas Association of Savate was formed and passed onto the Educational Department of Texas by Buitron, it was also past as a legal combative sport by the Department of Licensing and Regulations.

In 1993 he was given the highest award given to a savateur, the Gold Medal of Savate by the International Federation of Savate for his work in Savate around the World.

From 1992 to 1994  Buitron was a contender to the Super-middle weight Championship of the World of Savate, retiring due to a hand injury on his corner would have been Professeurs Paturel and Dackelue.

In 1994 he become the  9 th Generation Professeur to hold the Lineage of Savate . Passed on to him by Maitre Jean-Paul Viviani.  He has also, interviewed and trained with all of the surviving old Professeurs who saw and who revived the art after World War II .

In 1994 along with Maitre's Isidro Chapa, Jean-Paul Viviani, Sifu Keith See, Robert Paturel and Professeurs Paul R. Buitron MD, Michel Gilbert, Andre Germe, Roger Lafond, Pierre Change and Dominique Dacklue revived the old traditions of Savate, which were being decimated by the sport of Boxe Francaise- French Federation of Savate. In 1994 he revived the old guild renaming it the International Guild of Danse De Rue Savate™.

On December of 1997 he founded the Non-profit organization responsible for governing the sports of Savate in America, USA SAVATE/ Boxe Francaise & Canne de Combat , INC.

  Professeur Paul-Raymond Buitron III

Was the Vice-President of USA SAVATE from 1998 to 2000.

Was President of USA SAVATE 2001 to 2003

Was elected as Executive Commissioner 2003 to 2004

Opinionates Prof. Buitron, "I know that USA SAVATE is a very safe and sound organization, it cares about the fundamentals of the sport, youth and the growth of its competitors, but I do not wish to do anything with the pre-Madonna back-stabbing attitudes in most that train in Boxe Francaise, that attitude that comes from the French Federation of Savate and has being instilled in the sport internationally, that is the reason that I resigned from all the aspects of USA SAVATE. "

On December 8th 2001 he was given by the International Federation of Savate a recognition for his work of Savate within the United States and organizing the 1st US Nationals for USA SAVATE.

On March 16th 2002 he was recognized by the Belgium Federation of Savate for spreading good international relations between the two countries.

On June 21st 2002, he was presented by the Veterans' Hall of Fame and Military Museum Chartered#01267115, recognition as a Life Time Member Award for his work with the Youth.

Today his time and dedication are to establish the Danse De Rue Savate system in Laredo, with his supporting clubs and students in Texas, Illinois, California, Arizona, Tennessee, New Mexico in the US, Paris & Nice in France, Nuevo Laredo in Mexico as well as Helsinki in Finland.

On the photo to the left is his sister Dubelza which is training at an early age of 9 years old. This photo shows when  Dubelza Buitron  started her savate training and continues to this day. Duby Buitron is now 23 years old.

Proud that the family is still involved in Savate the newest members are his 8 year old daughter Nara Buitron and 10 year old nephew Eloy Buitron to join the Guild and start the road of becoming zipoteros in there own right.

Today in the United States, there are more "experts" in Savate than you can count, some valid while others as fake as a three dollar bill.

Buitron states, "every savateur is special, the good ones, the bad ones and especially the fakes since they are the ones that make you laugh, I have heard and read falsities of the history of the art. How it was produced as well as the rankings , achievements and colossal mistruths of the art in general. Only to see those proclaimers have been stopped in there tracks by students of mine with only four months experience in the art. GEE, I guess I have no knowledge of the art, but if you ask me who taught me I will respond with the name of who taught me and influenced in the creation DDRS."

Buitron can not keep up with the ever-growing requests for seminars, he encourages those who wish to learn to come to the headquarters to train. He has also traveled to other groups who practice savate without a Professeur to guide them within the art, Professeur Buitron just provides them with support and encouragement for training. Buitron states "It is not the style, it's the man behind it, a man with good basics is a hard man to beat".
