Serrada Escrima
This past weekend we had Guro Ron
Saturno one of Legendary Escrima
Masters Angel Cabalas teaching the system that
he was schooled in. He Covered the reasons behind the art as well as his arts
striking pattern. We all had a few laughs at the stories of old as well as the
fun times that he had with his Master.
We both accepted that fact of the new changes occurring with in the arts. New apparent masters that conceive new stories as well as techniques about the structure or teachings of a true system.
Similarities
occur with in knife attacks and you
will
see similarities with a different twist and flavor. Besides the similarities of
the teachings similarities in the way we think about hose who taught us are
common as well. There are far too many that learn a system and never complete it
then claim that it is from another or even that it was taught to them by another
never actually giving respect to the creator of the art or even to the
instructor that taught you. Respect has to be given to all who taught you
the bad and the good. That is just the way it is.
It is good to have that ability to work together without attitudes that some martial artist show in my home town and abroad. I am glad to have meet Guro Ron Saturno and his brother Guro Carlito Bonjoc. Martial artists without a care of attitude just abilities backed up by friendship.
