Passage de Grade 2006

This years passage de grade was a great step forward. Everyone showed what Danse de Rue Savate(sm) is all about.

Having my Brother in the art Professeur Marc "Gnocci" Seni, here to witness a new Silver Glove I: Patrick Gavin. my second Silver glove since I started teaching in 1990. People have to understand that this curriculum and the exams are not the same as the French Federations nor those of other exponent masters of the art that rest in Los Angeles.

Everyone showed there quickness, sureness and above all the adapt abilities of the art. Going over ebaketa-haize, and having everyone having learned this exercise, was and is happiness to my heart.

Keeping the tradition alive for the past ten years of having the passage de grade on the last weekend of July is much a tradition as is the hard training and hitting that comes with this art.

Everyone understands the importance of footwork instead of foot placement. Understanding the movement of savate with in the pivot is the nucleolus of the art. Thus many forget. Yet, this year everyone was in tune. I guess the pruning of three years ago has been good. I have now seen what a good garden looks like.

We had a good time with old friends, with World Champion of Karate Salvador Narvaiez. At his Ranch, we all had great laughs, good beer, and great carne asada.
